ISSEY MIYAKE – Rare spring summer 1978 Draped Culotte Jumpsuit

Rare vintage Issey Miyake culotte jumpsuit from the late 1970s, featuring a sculptural construction characteristic of the designer’s early work.

Cut in a soft grey fabric, the piece features a high, gathered waist, wide shoulder straps and a double button closure at the front. Two long draped fabric panels extend from the waist, creating movement and an architectural, layered silhouette. Two large patch pockets complete the design.

A related Issey Miyake Spring/Summer 1978 jumpsuit is held in the permanent collection of the Palais Galliera, Musée de la Mode de la Ville de Paris. 

Composition: 55% Nylon, 35% Viscose, 6% Linen, 4% Cotton

Measurements (laid flat): No size is indicated on the garment. The mannequin shown in the photos is a size Small. If worn layered over a shirt, as pictured, we recommend this piece for a size Extra Small (XS).
